Becker Tournament 2025

TanenbaumCHAT is excited to announce the return of the Israel Becker Basketball Tournament, January 26 to 29, 2025, marking its 30th anniversary.

The Israel Becker Basketball Tournament was first held in 1995 as a tribute to the memory of our alumnus and Varsity basketball player, Israel Becker '88 (pictured left). This year, we celebrate three decades of athletic excellence, community spirit, and Israel's lasting impact on TanenbaumCHAT.

This tournament will feature six girls and seven boys teams, with participants traveling from locations as near as Toronto and Montreal, and as far away as Maryland, Kansas City, and Israel. Over four action-packed days on and off the court, student-athletes will have the opportunity to engage in competition and build meaningful connections with one another.

To commemorate the 30th anniversary, Israel's close friends—who were instrumental in organizing the inaugural tournament—are spearheading a fundraising campaign to continue honouring his legacy.

Join the inaugural planners, and the entire TanenbaumCHAT community in celebrating Israel's memory by donating today. The inaugural planners are:
