The TanenbaumCHAT Alumni Mentorship Network
The TanenbaumCHAT Alumni Mentorship Network is an alumni-to-alumni program created to match alumni who are exploring career options, with experienced alumni already working in their relevant fields. Whether the mentees are considering grad schools, thinking about changing majors or career paths, looking for a new job, relocating or strategizing about how to get ahead, the TanenbaumCHAT Alumni Mentorship Network is here to offer support.
A highly individualized approach will provide mentors and mentees with opportunities for professional growth and knowledge transfer. All mentors and mentees will be interviewed by the program coordinator to screen and pair those involved. The structure of the program is informal: how often or where you meet your mentee is at your discretion. However, we ask that the first meeting, at least, take place in person.
More than 40 alumni – in industries such as medicine, finance, real estate, law, media and the arts – have already signed on to participate. The program is poised to be a great success and an integral part of the TanenbaumCHAT experience.
The TanenbaumCHAT Alumni Mentorship Program was designed to assist alumni in their career pursuits through connecting with experienced alumni in a relevant field. The purpose of the program is to encourage knowledge transfer and professional growth; the program is not just a forum for job interviews.
In order to join the program as a mentor or mentee, please contact Erica Melamed the coordinator of this program. Please expect to block off approximately fifteen minutes for a phone call discussing the program and answering questions which will aid in the matching process.
Through our highly individualized program, all mentors and mentees will be screened and paired based on common fields of interest by the program's coordinator.
For every new connection, the mentor and mentee will receive an email of introduction from the program's coordinator. Following that introductory email, it is the responsibility of the mentee to contact the mentor to set up a meeting.
We ask that the first meeting take place in person. Following that first meeting it is up to the needs of the mentee and the availability of the mentor for the relationship moving forward in terms of the format and frequency of contact.
The program is dependent upon connecting younger alumni with someone in an appropriate field of interest. We will do our best to connect mentors and mentees who have already signed on to the program, and we will conduct outreach if possible to find suitable matches if they don't already exist.
Erica Melamed, the program's coordinator, is happy to answer any questions regarding the program. She can be reached at (416) 636-5984 ext. 377 or email@example.com
There is no cost to signing up for the program. However, TanenbaumCHAT welcomes the support of the school community. If you would like to make a donation to the TanenbaumCHAT Alumni Fund to support today's students, please click here.
