ANNE AND MAX TANENBAUM COMMUNITY HEBREW ACADEMY OF TORONTO IS SEEKING FULL-TIME RECRUITMENT OFFICER

Who we're looking for:
TanenbaumCHAT is currently seeking a Recruitment Officer to join the team of Advancement professionals. The Recruitment Officer needs to be friendly and energetic as well a have excellent communication skills. They should enjoy meeting new people, giving presentations and answering questions about TanenbaumCHAT. The Recruitment Officer is responsible for handling all aspects of student recruitment efforts in an extremely fast-paced, customer-service driven environment. 

Reporting to the Director of Admissions and Recruitment, the Recruitment Officer will work closely with administrative and academic staff and will be liaising directly with prospective families. They will help plan, coordinate and implement recruitment activities such as Open House, feeder school tours and programs, parent information meetings and private tours; conduct student interviews and assist the department in other events as required. This role requires initiative, excellent interpersonal skills and strong administrative and technical skills. 


What you'll do:

  • Coordinate, plan and implement logistics and programming for TanenbaumCHAT Open Houses including marketing and follow-up
  • Liaise with faculty for logistics, set-up, food and giveaways for the New Stream and feeder school tours
  • Give input on the development and updating of TanenbaumCHAT's recruitment package and materials 
  • Plan, execute and attend placement tests days. Work with the Admissions Officer to ensure registrations and check-in packages are prepared
  • New Stream Outreach
    • Follow leads on potential families considering Jewish day school for the first time
    • Execute programming to introduce new families to the New Stream program
  • Work closely with team of interviewers to process applicants and liaise with families
  • Work collaboratively with the TanenbaumCHAT feeder schools
    • Obtain perspective student lists
  • Work with the Director of Admissions and Recruitment to follow-up on students who make inquiries but do not apply
  • Work with the Admissions Officer to gather information for New stream tour prospects and send email reminders
  • Work closely with the Director of Admissions to manage publicity, marketing and advertising with respect to recruitment 
  • Plan and coordinate on boarding events for new families
  • Handle individual phone and email inquiries from prospective parents in a timely and professional matter and book requests for private tours and meetings. Enter data relating to inquiries into Admissions database
  • Educate prospective families on TanenbaumCHAT's high calibre academic and Jewish programs
  • Represent TanenbaumCHAT as required at recruitment fairs and other off campus events 
  • Maintain ongoing positive communication and engagement with applicant families to "convert" applicants to students at the start of the school (including):
    • Electronic newsletters
    • Tickets and invitations to a variety of school events 
  • Work closely with Student Ambassadors 
  • Coordinate Parent Ambassador meetings, preparation and follow-up 
  • Coordinate and attend prospective parent information meetings
  • Conduct applicant interviews
  • Private tours of the school
  • Backup and assist with processing incoming applications, as needed, and insuring all required documents have been submitted with the application


Qualifications we require:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in recruitment, admissions or sales
  • Strong understanding of the GTA's Jewish schools and commuity
  • Advancement office or independent school experience an asset
  • Experience in event planning
  • Strong computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google docs, Google calendar
  • Ability to quickly learn to use new software programs
  • Excellent interpersonal, multi-tasking and organizational skills
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and follow-through
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Some evening and weekend work required

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • OCT Certification, or equivalent

  • A demonstrated passion for working with teenagers in an exciting and vibrant school community
  • Candidates for the Judaic Studies positions should be fluent in Ivrit and English
