All applications must be accompanied by the application fee and the tuition deposit. Late applications are considered at the discretion of the school and are subject to a late application fee. All Application fees are non-refundable and cannot be credited against tuition. If a grade is full, applicants will be placed on a waiting list and processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Students applying for entry in higher grades must show that they have the prerequisites for the courses they wish to take, including Jewish Studies/Ivrit prerequisites. In some cases, students may be required to attend a summer school before placement is possible; they may be required to upgrade skills or knowledge before admission; and they may be accepted only on academic or other probation.
All students are required to attend an interview, and take required placement tests in Hebrew, English, Math, and if applicable, French.
Soon after the interview, parents will be sent an “Offer of a Place at TanenbaumCHAT“. If parents wish to accept the Offer of a Place, the form has to be signed and returned to the school, within two weeks. A student will only be placed on the school roll when the “Offer of a Place at TanenbaumCHAT” has been issued, signed and returned to the school.
Acceptance of a place at TanenbaumCHAT signifies family support of the ethos and values of the school, and acceptance of the school rules as set out in the School Handbook and other documents issued from time to time.
Fees and Deposit:
- There is a non-refundable application fee of $150. Late Applications received after the due date are charged an additional fee of $200. These fees reflect the cost of processing new applications to the school.
- At the time of application, parents are required to send a $500 deposit, which is credited to tuition.
- The deposit is non-refundable if the student withdraws their application. (Please see the Application Form Part A for details of withdraw penalties after the beginning of the school year.)
- The deposit will be refunded if parents decline the Offer of a Place, or if the school decides that it is unable to offer a place.
